How to structure your CELPIP preparation
A structured study plan is essential for achieving a CLB 9 or higher. Instead of just taking random practice tests, you need a strategic approach that builds your skills and test-day endurance.
Week 1: Establish Your Baseline
Start by taking a full-length mock test under realistic exam conditions. This will help you identify your current CLB level and pinpoint your weakest sections.
Week 2: Focus on Weaknesses and Templates
Spend this week working on the sections where you lost the most points. If Writing and Speaking are your weak spots, learn and practice flexible templates so you know exactly how to structure your answers.
Week 3: Time Management and Targeted Drills
Practice under strict time limits. For example, give yourself exactly 27 minutes for Writing Task 1, and practice the 30-second prep/60-second speaking rhythm for the Speaking section.
Week 4: Full Test Simulations
In the final week, take 2 to 3 full mock exams. Do them in one sitting to build the cognitive stamina required for the 3-hour test, and review your mistakes thoroughly after each attempt.
